Gilded Cookies

So, here's something I hope to see more of in 2012:
Gilded Girl Scout Cookies

Want some bonus points?
Put them on wedding cakes.

I don't know about you, but I can skip the Thin Mints and the Tagalongs as long as I have my Samoas. I'm absolutely in love with the gold Samoas piled on top of this simple white cake.

Of course, if you line them all up and throw some ribbons in the background, you're going to have to invite me over. Cake, Girl Scout cookies and pretty ribbons make me weak in the knees.

Would you put gilded cookies on top of your cake? Or how about putting them on top of little cupcakes!

  1. Ooo that looks pretty darn awesome! On top of cupcakes sounds pretty amazing esp. for little fancy get togethers. :) -Lo

  2. I'm partial to the peanut butter cookies, flavor-wise, but those gilded samoas have a really beautiful texture. What a cool idea :)

  3. How about we do this just for fun? Samoas are my weakness.

  4. Is it just me? Or does there seem to be a "sparkle hangover" from New Year's on a lot of blogs? Am actually loving it!

  5. Can you still eat them? What's the edible gold option or is it just spray paint?

  6. Ha. This is my wedding! And I just randomly found this post. Uh, the cakes were delicious. You could eat the cookies as the gold was edible. Plus, each cake tasted like a different Girl Scout cookie under that cream cheese frosting. When I described my idea for the cakes, everyone said "That sounds like the ugliest thing I've ever heard of" but I embraced the weirdness and they turned out great!

  7. Get out, Katie! I'm so happy you stumbled upon this post...and so stinking happy you didn't listen to everyone when they didn't understand your vision for these AMAZING cakes! This is such a great idea and you've inspired many! Xo
